Rustic Farm Wedding – Rachel and Nick’s perfect day

Don’t be fooled into thinking that weddings this cool, laid back and relaxed don’t take LOTS of work to achieve. Rachel and Nick certainly had a hands-on approach to their wedding and worked so hard with friends and family to create the perfect day.
However, as many people who have tried (and failed) soon realise, trying to make the bouquets and buttonholes on the morning of your wedding can just prove to be a step too far on the stress’o’metre! We were thrilled Rachel got in touch to see if we could help with this special part of their day.
One of the notable points for me about this wedding is that I never met the bride or groom, even on the day itself! However, browsing through the stunning images from Emily & Steve photo, I know if we had that we would have had a blast. The whole day looked relaxed and fun and had so many personal touches.
So instead of the several meetings that normally take place, Rachel sent over a list of requirements along with some photos that inspired her. We then created a mood board of flowers and designs that we were thrilled to hear she loved.
The colour scheme was a beautiful contrast of soft pinky peach tones with deep red and burgundy. The blooms included daring tropical protea with seasonal dahlia, fluffy astilbe, unusual foliages and beautiful berries to add drama and texture. All wrapped up in the most beautiful flowing ribbons.
We also supplied a bucket of blooms for the incredibly talented Bunston Bakes to adorn the delicious tower of naked cake and we think you’ll agree it looks incredible!
It was such a pleasure to be part of this super elegant day and great to see so much love for this gorgeous wedding on https://www.brideandtonic.com/2020/02/09/a-rustic-boho-barn-wedding-rachel-nick/
“We had the pleasure of working with Tarnia for our wedding last August and could not have been more thrilled with the way our beautiful blooms turned out on the day!
After realising quite late on into our wedding planning that it would not be possible to do the flowers ourselves, we were recommended to contact Tarnia to create these for us.
Sadly we never got the chance to meet in person, so we sent over some inspiration photos and our colour choices so that Tarnia could create a moodboard for us to see.
This was incredibly helpful as we could visualise just how the colours and different flowers and foliage would work together. She was incredibly patient and accommodating when I decided later on that I’d really like to have some proteas and a king protea in my bouquet and we were delighted when she was able to source these for us.
What I loved most was Tarnia’s interpretation of our brief. We wanted a rustic theme for the day and we absolutely loved that she included a nod to British hedgerows by adding blackberries into the bouquets and buttonholes, they really were the star of the show!
When the flowers arrived on the day we were absolutely blown away by the quality of the blooms, the rich depth of colours used and the beautiful way Tarnia brought them all together. The only thing I am sad about is that we went on our honeymoon the next day so I didn’t get to admire my beautiful flowers for longer! “
